History
Portland Rugby Football Club (PRFC) was established in 1961 and is a non profit organization. PRFC is a member of USA Rugby and competes in the Pacific Northwest Rugby Football Union. The union is made up men's and women's and collegiate clubs from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. PRFU includes two senior men's side teams and an old boys side made up of players age 35 and older.In its 45 years of existence, PRFC has promoted the sport of rugby through competition as well as fundraising and charitable contributions. Currently, the club supports needy Portland families through St. Vincent de Paul Adopt-A-Family Program. Competitively, Portland Rugby has participated in 3 international tours.
Members of PRFC come from all walks of life. Every year PRFC invites new players to participate in the club, regardless of experience level. Each member has equal opportunity to compete and is essential to the success of the club. The club can assists with accommodations and employment for international exchange players. After all, the brotherhood of rugby encompasses the globe and possesses the greatest camaraderie in organized sport today.
