About the Portland Pigs Women
The Portland Pigs Women's team currently competes in the Pacific Northwest Rugby senior club DI division with USA Rugby.
Founded in 2009 as the "Lady Pigs," the team has grown exponentially. After officially joining the Portland Rugby Club in 2011 as a league-affiliated women's side, the program quickly made a national mark, finishing 7th in the nation in 2012.
That momentum has only accelerated. From 2022 to 2025, the team captured consecutive DII PNRFU Senior Women’s Championship titles and consistently ranked among the top clubs in the country.
Now, riding a wave of roster growth and regional dominance across the Pacific Northwest, the team earned promotion to Division I in 2026.
Despite stepping up in competition, we remain fully dedicated to growing the sport and welcome players of all backgrounds and experience levels; no prior rugby knowledge required!
