About the Portland Pigs Women
The Portland Pigs Women's team currently competes in the Pacific Northwest Rugby senior club DII division with USA Rugby.
The women's team has grown exponentially since its inception as the "Lady Pigs" in 2009. In 2011, the team joined the Portland Rugby Club as a league affiliated women's side.
Since then, we have continued to finish in the top of the league with several DII PNRFU Senior Women Championship titles, including finishing Top 7th in the nation in 2012.
Most recently in 2022, 2023, and 2024, the Portland Pigs have won the division championship, finishing Top 8th, Top 16th, and Top 9th in the nation, respectively.
Development Team
We continue to see our numbers grow and have expanded with a non-competitive development team in spring 2025!
In an effort to grow the sport, the PNW rugby league started a non-competitive bracket that is focused more on learning and development for new or inexperienced players. This bracket is made up of teams with development sides, as well as "motley" teams that are combinations of multiple teams in the area who may still be growing in numbers.
