Youth Rugby Clinic Hosted by Portland Rugby
The Portland Rugby Club is thrilled to present its first annual Youth Rugby Clinic, a thrilling day filled with rugby excitement and skill-building for aspiring young players.
Designed for players up to 18, this clinic aims to introduce players to skilled techniques and strategies of rugby while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun on the field.
Event Highlights
Expert Coaching
Participants will receive hands-on coaching from experienced and certified rugby coaches, including current and former players from the Portland Rugby Club. These coaches will focus on teaching the proper techniques for passing, tackling, running, and more, ensuring that each participant develops their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Skill Stations
The clinic will feature various skill stations, where young players will rotate and learn different aspects of the game. From basic ball-handling drills to advanced tactical strategies, the stations will cater to players of all skill levels, making it an inclusive experience for everyone involved.
Game Scenarios
To put their newfound skills to the test, participants will engage in friendly, non-competitive game scenarios. This is an excellent opportunity for players to practice what they've learned, collaborate with teammates, and build their confidence on the field.
Safety and Sportsmanship
Safety is of utmost importance, and the clinic will prioritize teaching participants about proper rugby equipment, injury prevention, and respect for fellow players and coaches. Sportsmanship and fair play will be strongly encouraged throughout the event.
Q&A with Players
As part of the experience, participants will have the chance to ask questions and interact with some of the club's senior players, gaining insights into their rugby journeys and receiving motivational advice.
